Product description
Catalogue of the exhibition "Wisigoths rois de Toulouse" presented at the Saint-Raymond Museum from February to December 2020. At the beginning of the 5th century, the Visigoths were settled in the Southwest of Gaul by the Western Roman Empire. Tolosa, their royal residence, became, as events unfolded, capital of a territory often referred to as the Kingdom of Toulouse. 1600 years after the arrival of the Visigoths in our region, the Saint-Raymond Museum dedicates an exhibition to them for the first time. Thanks to recent archaeological discoveries, some of which have never been seen before, and items from all over Europe, this catalogue invites us to rediscover the history of this people, from their origins to the fall of the Kingdom of Toulouse. Soft cover. 383 pages. In French.
